Welcome to the New Jersey Public Health Association! As one of America’s oldest public health organizations, NJPHA is committed to promoting the health of everyone who lives in, works in, or visits New Jersey, and to building healthy communities and an overall Culture of Health throughout our State.
NJPHA is a non-profit membership organization for public health professionals and students, and we also welcome anyone who is interested in contributing to the cause of public health. Our purpose is to provide our members with a structure through which they can come together to network and collaborate on activities to promote their interests in and passion for public health. As the New Jersey affiliate of APHA – the American Public Health Association – we “think global, act local”, focusing on finding local solutions for public health issues.
Our Mission is to advocate and advance public health issues in New Jersey. We do this through:
- Advocacy for public policies, standards and practices that promote and protect the public’s health;
- Education of the public and policy makers about public health issues;
- Professional Development of our members to enable them to update their knowledge and increase their skills in order to effectively address present and emerging public health issues; and
- Collaboration with other organizations who have similar missions and interests.
I invite you to learn more about us and what we do by exploring our website. And if what you see inspires you to want to be part of this work, I invite you to join us.
Good health to you!
Kevin McNally, MBA - President, New Jersey Public Health Association
